The APA's 100th National Planning Conference, taking place this year in Las Vegas, is billed as "1,000 conferences in 1". Hundreds of sessions cover the gamut of planning topics, including an Energy Planning Track. Post Carbon Cities' Daniel Lerch will be there, hosting a session called Responding to Peak Oil and Energy Uncertainty.
Out of hundreds of sessions at the APA's annual national conference, planners of all stripes will be able to find just the right combination to suit their interests and needs. There are so many possible combinations that they provide an "Online Schedule Builder" to build and compare potential personal agendas.
There are also a number of planned "tracks", each built around a theme, including
- Health and Communities Track
- Paying for Growth Track
- Small Town and Rural Planning Track
And numerous others.
But of course, the track that Post Carbon Cities is most concerned with is the Energy Planning Track. Daniel Lerch, author of Post Carbon Cities: Planning for Energy and Climate Uncertainty, and Jennifer Sarnecki, AICP, of the Southern California Association of Governments, will be hosting a session in that track called Responding to Peak Oil and Climate Uncertainty.
